Melbourne Street, Newcastle

Orbit Architects obtained planning permission for Melbourne Street in March 2010. The application is a sustainable development, making best use of a brownfield site within the existing urban area. The proposal will be connected with existing student accommodation and form a shared landscaped courtyard and well overseen amenity space. The elevational design and materials will be of the highest standard and contemporary crisp detailing will enhance the area from close up and seen across the Tyne valley. Many students will enjoy spectacular views through floor to ceiling glazing in all rooms towards the river.
