The former Empress Club, now fully restored to a best-in-class office building with luxuriously designed workspaces.

Orbit was part of the design team that transformed the 35 Dover Street building in Mayfair. The building was historically home to the exclusive women-only Empress Club. Purpose-built for the opening in 1887 which was inaugurated by Queen Victoria. Fast forward to over a century, today 35 Dover Street has been fully refurbished. The building has now been aptly renamed Empress as a nod to its noble history.

Orbit, along with interior designer Maison Arabella, took great care to design a contemporary office space that truly reflects the standard and prestige of Mayfair with bespoke elements, joinery, banquet seating, and marble stone fixtures.

With the Empress building originally containing over a 100 rooms, the design was led by optimising the use of space and enhancing the overall functionality of the building. The landmark riverside building now features 250,000 sq. ft of office space, and one of London’s largest landscaped roof gardens.

Orbit helped deliver a high-end Cat A Fit Out Plus to circa 10,000 sq. ft across the second to sixth floors and all common areas.  The building's sustainability credentials has also been upgraded, and has achieved EPC B and BREEAM 'Very Good' ratings.
