65 Southwark Street

Light hearted and nimble refurbishment brings colour to London’s Bankside.

Located in London’s Bankside, 65 Southwark Street is a seven storey office building symbolised by its iconic harlequin chequered façade. Orbit collaborated with BW: Workplace Experts on the playful refurbishment of the reception, end of trip facilities, 2nd floor office space and roof of the building. The design focused on delivering a light touch refurbishment, integrating splashes of colour and on-brand elements into details such as the reception joinery signage and roof terrace planters.

A large focus was placed on the introduction of the roof terrace. By screening the existing services and diverting a large duct to form a feature portal entrance, the resulting terrace offers amazing views of the surrounding area, including a stunning view of The Shard. Considerable coordination diligently executed by Orbit enabled this space to come together seamlessly.
