Complete reinvigoration of prominent city landmark

This landmark building in the City of London has been sensitively restored, refurbished, and reimagined to create mixed use contemporary and characterful spaces.

Standing in full view from London Bridge, 68 King William Street offers 70,600 sq ft of contemporary workspaces, wrapped in a grand façade. Complete with a new exceptional City restaurant by The Wolseley Hospitality Group, Wagtail rooftop terrace bar and a newly equipped PureGym.

Orbit extended and refurbished this majestic building to an exceptionally high standard. A new reception was created, and the office floors were refurbished, with on-floor plant rooms to free up the roof space for a new two-story extension. This extension is now home to luxury rooftop bar and restaurant, Wagtail, which offers 360 views of the London skyline.

The ground floor double height space will be a new restaurant, and the lower ground level was enlarged and fitted for occupation by PureGym. The complexity of mixed uses, and their entrances, servicing, and fire management was resolved in an elegant solution which also maximised the Net Internal Are (NIA). This was achieved by providing a new firefighting lift within an existing riser and allowing for a high-quality entrance for Wagtail.

Orbit delivered all aspects of the project from planning through to delivery, and we are rightly proud of the result, and the added value delivered for the Client.
